Why our kit company (kitbedrijf) treats inside and outside differently

A frame requires a specific approach. We use the right material for each side:

Inside (finish & visibility)

We often use Anti-Crack acrylic between frame and wall. It looks super clean and can be painted over.

Outside (protection & flexibility)

We use high-quality glazing sealant or hybrid sealant. It stays elastic, doesn’t crack, and keeps water out.

What do we handle?

window

Replace glazing sealant

The sealant directly against the glass. We replace old, cracked sealant with a clean modern line.

home_work

Frame joint outside

The joint between the frame and the exterior wall. Essential to keep rainwater out of the cavity.

chair

Frame joint inside

The joint between frame and plaster/wallpaper. Removes drafts and creates a clean visual finish.

construction

Remove old residue

Old sealant, putty or silicone? We remove everything cleanly before resealing.

Recognize the signals

Not sure if it’s needed? Check your frames for:

  • check_circleDrafts: you feel cold air along the frame.
  • check_circleCracks: the sealant line is broken or pulling away from the glass.
  • check_circleMoisture: you see damp spots or condensation inside (watch for wood rot).
  • check_circleGreen growth: moss or algae in joints (sign of trapped moisture).

FAQ — Windows & Frames

Do you work at height? expand_more
Yes, but we need to know. For higher work we may need scaffolding or a lift. Send a facade photo and we can assess it.
Does sealing reduce outside noise? expand_more
Yes. Where drafts come through, noise comes in too. A good seal makes your home quieter.
Can I clean the windows after sealing? expand_more
Wait a bit. Surface dry is around 24 hours; full cure takes longer. We advise you after the job.
Do I need to paint after sealing? expand_more
Outside we often use color-matched sealant that doesn’t need painting. Inside we use paintable sealant. We align this beforehand.
Do you provide a warranty? expand_more
Yes, 2-year warranty on carefully sealedness and adhesion.
