About hiring De Kitbaas
1.How long should sealant cure before I can shower?
We normally plan at least 24 hours without water exposure. Longer may be needed depending on the sealant, joint and conditions. A dry skin does not mean the joint is fully cured. We give you advice for your bathroom after the job.
2.What does sealing work by De Kitbaas cost in 2026?
Rates per metre or hour vary widely depending on joint width, substrate, accessibility, preparation and removal of old sealant. De Kitbaas therefore works with a fixed project price after reviewing photos. That way you know upfront what's included in the agreed scope of work.
3.How do you choose a sealant colour for my space?
We match the colour as carefully as possible to tile, grout and surroundings. Light, gloss and material differences can mean a colour does not look exactly the same everywhere.
4.Do you also seal shower drains and linear drains?
Yes, if the drain is firmly installed and the joint is suitable. We follow the installation instructions and keep drainage openings clear. A loose drain or a fault in the construction cannot be fixed with a new sealant line alone.
5.Do you seal natural stone and marble?
Yes. We choose sealant suited to the stone and assess the surface and previous treatments. Cleaners, primers and finishing agents must also be compatible. This helps reduce the risk of staining along the edge.
6.How long is your warranty on sealant work?
You get a 2-year warranty on the workmanship and adhesion of sealant applied by De Kitbaas. When you report an issue, we first assess the cause. If it falls under warranty, we repair the affected sealant work at no charge.
7.Do you seal wooden floors and parquet edges?
It depends on the flooring system. We only seal where the floor manufacturer allows it, using the specified joint construction. The floor must remain free to move; we do not lock its expansion space in place with sealant.
8.How quickly can you come over?
We respond to your photos as quickly as possible. The installation date depends on location, scope and availability.
9.Should I fill the bathtub with water before you seal it?
It depends on the bath and installation instructions. We agree beforehand whether filling is needed. The bath must be properly supported; extra sealant will not fix a loose or sagging bath.
10.Do you seal windows and exterior frames on the outside too?
Yes, if the surfaces, access and weather conditions are suitable. We use suitable glazing sealant along glass and connection sealant between frame and facade. We follow the glazing and frame system and keep required drainage and ventilation clear.
11.Do you seal composite kitchen worktops?
Yes. We follow the worktop manufacturer's instructions and choose sealant to suit the composite, joint and use. Cleaning, any primer and colour are matched to the job too.
12.Why choose a specialist sealing company?
A general handyman can carry out sealant work, but a specialist sealant company focuses daily on preparation, material choice, joint profile, colour and finish. That difference often shows in the result.
13.Do you seal the kitchen behind the stove as well?
If the joint and temperature allow it. We follow the stove or cooktop installation instructions and assess the distance from heat. Ventilation openings stay clear.
14.Which materials does De Kitbaas use?
We use premium sealant suited to the job: sanitary sealant for suitable wet-area joints, a suitable variant for natural stone and paintable sealant where needed. We choose for the surface, movement and use and follow the product instructions.
15.How do I request a price?
Send overview and detail photos of the joints together with your town via WhatsApp. We assess the work and agree on a project price in advance.
16.Do you remove the old sealant?
For replacement work, we carefully remove the old sealant. We clean the bonding surfaces with a suitable cleaner and make sure they are clean, dry and ready for the new sealant. Any primer is chosen according to the product instructions.
17.Will you leave my home tidy?
We work carefully and leave the work area tidy after completion.
